Common troubleshooting methods for dental handpieces

The consumption during the use of dental handpieces, together with the influence of high-temperature sterilization and improper operation, often lead to various problems of dental handpieces. In fact, some problems can be avoided or doctors and nurses can solve them themselves. Recently, our company has suffered a serious loss of personnel, and the backlog is serious due to the large maintenance volume. In order not to delay your use, we will summarize and share the common problems with you. We will try to deal with them, and then send them to us for maintenance. It can save outpatient expenses and reduce our workload.

1. Do not turn after high-temperature sterilization.

Before high-temperature sterilization, the mobile phone should be oiled to protect the bearing. However, some mobile phone oil will have solid residues after volatilization at high temperature. These residues will bind the ball, inner and outer rings and cage of the bearing together, because the torque of the pneumatic mobile phone is too small to make the bearing rotate. At this time, first fill the mobile phone with oil to dissolve the dried grease, then install a needle with a larger diameter, turn the needle left and right by hand, and gradually increase the rotation amplitude, until the rotation is smooth, then install it on the mobile phone tube, step on the foot pedal and use air to drive the mobile phone to discharge the residue, and then inject new oil to use it normally. High-speed mobile phones, low-speed straight machines, low-speed bending machines and root canal mobile phones can be solved in this way. Because the connecting shaft of the low-speed motor is not exposed outside, it needs to connect the straight head for assistance. The straight head is equipped with a large grinding head, which can drive the rotor assembly to rotate by hand. Due to its internal structure, the low-speed motor is difficult to discharge oil dirt, which requires a large amount of oil injection and repeated flushing.

2. The needle cannot be clamped after high temperature sterilization (press type mobile phone).

The press clamping shaft of high-speed mobile phone is very small and precise, and the clamping component is reset by spring. In case of the accumulation of solidified grease or other dirt or the rusting of high temperature metal, the clamping component cannot return by the force of spring. At this time, press and hold the rear cover, use the cleaning lubricant to align the needle hole of the car and inject oil for cleaning, then press the rear cover repeatedly, then inject oil for cleaning, and then press repeatedly. Most mobile phones can be repaired by repeating the above steps. Some mobile phones, such as NSK and SIRONA mobile phones, can be fitted with a needle. Hold the front end of the needle against a hard object with a little force to help the clamping component return to its position, and then repeat the steps of pressing - jacking back - oil injection cleaning and repeatedly pressing the rear cover. The press clamp shafts of high-speed mobile phones, low-speed bending machines, planting mobile phones, root canal mobile phones, etc. need to be regularly oiled and cleaned.

3. The needle cannot be removed from the planting mobile phone.

This situation is easy to occur when the needle hole is too large and the needle is irregular. Especially, some needles with chamfering process on the side of the semicircular section at the top of the needle can not be removed. The solution is to install the machine head on the motor (with the help of the resistance of the motor, otherwise the needle will drive the core to rotate), clamp the needle with a needle holder or pliers, and rotate about 15 °~30 ° in the opposite direction of the rotation direction when the needle is stuck. It is felt that the needle has an active gap, and then press the back cover to remove the needle.

4. The high-speed mobile phone spray is abnormal.

The cooling water of high-speed mobile phones is atomized by the action of air, that is, the cooling water and cooling air must be turned on at the same time, and the two must be adjusted together. The cooling gas is called atomizing gas on the tooth chair, and some tooth chairs are marked as blowing gas. The atomization gas on most dental chairs is a separate knob, which is placed next to the water volume knob. Many dentists mistakenly turn the water button up or down. When the water from the mobile phone sprays out in a column or atomizes poorly, the cooling air needs to be turned on or turned up. When it looks foggy but has a sticky taste, the water volume should be turned up and the atomization gas should be turned down. The cooling gas must be available, but it cannot be opened very large. When the water splashes heavily during tooth grinding, it means that the atomization air is adjusted too high. The easiest way to adjust is to turn off the atomization gas and let the mobile phone run, then turn on the water, keep the mobile phone running and slowly turn on the atomization gas, and let the air flow just atomize the water. Many high-speed mobile phones are now multi-point spray. The multi-point spray mobile phone water and atomization gas are mixed in the water jacket of the mobile phone. If the atomization gas is opened too much, it will push the water back and cause the mobile phone not to water out. Therefore, when the mobile phone with multi-point spray does not produce water, the atomization gas should be turned down first.

5. The water pipe of the low-speed motor injects air.

Low-speed motors can be divided into internal and external water channels, some of which are water spray and some of which are water spray only. This is about the sewer phone. The most popular ones on the market are NSK models. There is a prominent connector for the water pipe above the connector. The atomization air pipe and water pipe of the mobile phone are connected inside the interface. In the past, the atomization gas of some low-speed mobile phones in dental chairs can be turned off separately, but now the dental chairs basically share a atomization gas knob for low-speed and high-speed mobile phones. When using high-speed mobile phones, everything is normal. When using low-speed mobile phones, they will jet from the water pipe. At this time, turn off the atomizing gas to stop spraying, but remember to turn it on after use, otherwise the water will not atomize at high speed. In the past, when we installed the dental chair, we would not have this problem if we tied the low speed cooling air pipe. Later, because we didn't know what kind of low-speed mobile phones the customer would buy, some low-speed mobile phones used atomized gas, and some customers rarely used low-speed only high-speed. Considering the diversified needs of customers, the cooling air pipe was not tied. If you fix this mobile phone tube and install it at low speed, it is recommended to tie the atomization tube. 6. The return cylinder under the instrument panel leaks water or oil.

The compressed air drives the mobile phone to run, and the outgoing air is connected to the return cylinder under the instrument tray by the return pipe of the mobile phone. The vent hole of the return cylinder is on the side of the bottle, and cotton or sponge is placed inside. The purpose of the gas return cylinder is to reduce the noise of the gas return pipe and absorb the excess mobile phone oil. Regular cleaning and replacement of cotton or sponge are required for returning gas cylinders. No water will be discharged from the return cylinder of the dental chair in normal use, unless there are the following circumstances: ① the mobile phone is not tightened; ② the four-hole pad on the mobile phone interface is lost; ③ the internal water pipe and the return pipe of the mobile phone are broken at the same time; ④ the internal water pipe of the mobile phone falls off. The probability of the third case is very low, so please check item ① ③ ④ when there is water leakage in the return cylinder.

7. The tooth chair is connected to the sandblasting gun.

Gun-type sandblasting machine and simple desktop sandblasting machine are commonly used in outpatient clinics, hereinafter referred to as sandblasting gun. When the sand blasting gun is working, the sand powder tank and pipeline are filled with compressed air. When stopping, the air in the sand powder tank and pipeline is difficult to empty for a while because the nozzle aperture is very small. At this time, the gas will carry sand powder and be discharged from the mobile phone pipe through the dental chair gas through the dental chair foot valve. The sand powder that cannot be discharged is left in the pipe of the dental chair. When using high and low speed mobile phones, the sand powder enters into the bearing, impeller, rotor, etc. of the high and low speed mobile phones, causing damage to the mobile phones. There is also sand powder sticking on the impeller, causing impeller corrosion. When we repaired the mobile phone, we found that there were impurities like sand powder in the mobile phone of many clinics. The bearing was not obviously damaged but the rotation was stuck, which was caused by the sand powder entering the bearing. When repairing the dental chair that often uses the sandblasting gun, it is often found that the inner wall of the trachea is covered with sand powder. Therefore, we recommend that you use the sandblasting gun carefully. If you really need to use it, it is better to designate a dental chair separately. It's really impossible to specify a mobile phone tube. There is no way to use the mobile phone on the mobile phone tube after using the sandblasting gun. Please step on your foot and spray for a while before using it. Remember! Some people will say that our sandblasting gun has a check valve, but that's just a so-called check valve, which doesn't work.

8. Misunderstanding of ultrasonic cleaning of mobile phones.

Many manufacturers and dealers promote that mobile phones cannot be cleaned by ultrasonic wave. My opinion is different. As for the use of mobile phones, it is not necessary to judge by yourself. The principle of ultrasonic cleaning is to use the high-frequency vibration generated by the ultrasonic generator to drive the water to vibrate at the same frequency, thus producing scouring effect. At present, there is no good way to clean the dirt in the cell phone lumen except for ultrasonic cleaning and disassembly cleaning. I think the correct operation will not cause harm to the mobile phone: ① The mobile phone should not touch the inner wall of the cleaning tank when using ultrasonic cleaning, and should be placed in the basket with the machine for cleaning. ② The water used for cleaning is preferably distilled water or deionized water, and neutral detergent or cleaning enzyme can be added to improve the cleaning effect. ③ If the water is dirty after cleaning, it is recommended to wash it repeatedly. There will be a large amount of water in the lumen of the mobile phone after cleaning, and it must be dried with an air gun before sterilization.
